lauren drell
Lauren is the associate editor of partner content at Mashable and the social media and web manager at the wildly popular lobster shack Luke’s Lobster. Before Mashable, she worked at AOL Small Business, where she produced video interviews of entrepreneurs and covered emerging trends in the market. When not writing, editing, tweeting, reporting or emailing, Lauren loves traveling, racking her brain with crossword puzzles, reading nonfiction works and finding typos to post on her blog, Spelchekt. She is a cupcake lover who is adamant that Sprinkles (Beverly Hills, Calif.) has the best red velvet recipe in the country -- though she’s open to free samples if you think you have a contender.
A native Californian, Lauren first experienced the East Coast as an undergrad at the University of Pennsylvania. She liked what she saw (seasons, snowfall and Gothic architecture) and decided to stay back east after graduation. After a humbling year of freelance copywriting and waiting tables in Manhattan, Lauren went to Northwestern University to earn a master’s in broadcast journalism. Apparently she didn’t have enough of the Big Apple the first time around, so she’s back for more.
